Point Reyes National Seashore (1962)
MCL gave strong support to the effort to establish the Seashore
and worked with Peter Behr, who had formed a group called Save Our
Seashore, to accomplish this. MCL continues to influence its planning
through its Parks Committee.
MCL continues to work on preserving important natural features
of Marin. Projects have included the San Rafael Shoreline, Corte
Madera marshes, Bahia, Rush Creek in Novato, Bel Marin Keys and
other creeks, wetlands and ridges.
