Mount Tamalpais State Park (1934)
The first effort of the fledgling organization was to join with
the Tamalpais Conservation Club to add 531 acres to the park, which
was begun a few years earlier with a nucleus of 200 acres in Steep
Ravine.
MCL continues to work on preserving important natural features
of Marin. Projects have included the San Rafael Shoreline, Corte
Madera marshes, Bahia, Rush Creek in Novato, Bel Marin Keys and
other creeks, wetlands and ridges.
