Marin Conservation League's tour of the Nicasio Native Grass Ranch and the Marin Carbon Project on June 29, 2014, was attended by more than 70 people, who learned how compost applied to grasslands can remove carbon from the atmosphere and put it to beneficial use as organic matter in our soil.

Many thanks to Dr. Jeff Creque, John Wick and Peggy Rathmann of the Marin Carbon Project for their presentation, and to Jon Elam, Judy Teichman, Pam Reaves, Catherine Lee, Kate Powers, Jana Haehl and Susan Stompe of MCL for all their help in making this event a success. We look forward to the next event in this series, to be announced soon.

For more background on the carbon project, see page five of the MCL May/June Newsletter. For a write up of the tour, see Janis Maris' Marin IJ article.
